Video Editing Tip #6 - Story Board

In order for you to find the perfect timing in a cut-to-cut video editing, you have to watch the whole video first. While watching you have to have a pen and paper ready so you could take notes of the following:
  • Label of the clip
  • Specific start time and end time of the clip
  • Length of the clip
  • Added notes about the clip (e.g. the scene, character, location)
Be patient enough to watch the whole flick. Never sleep on it. The most effective way of being an editor is being patient.

This technique would save you a lot of time and would make your imagination work. After having all the right clips, make a story board. You can either sketch the scene or make a print out that could work as a thumbnail.
